Obituary of Donald E. Kemp

Donald Eugene Kemp, age 77, of Branchport, NY passed away on Tuesday, October 11th, 2022 at the Bath VA Medical Center. Don was born in Wellsville, NY on September 14th, 1945, the son of the late Donald Raymond and Mary Lehman Kemp. He served in the US Army from 1964 to 1967, serving in Germany and in Vietnam with a rank of E-5. Don worked construction for Empire Telephone Company of Prattsburgh, NY from 1968 and retired in 2010. Don married Linda Smith in Prattsburgh on September 19th, 1970. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, and gardening. Don loved his family and friends and riding his motor cycle. Don is survived by his loving wife of 52 years, Linda Kemp; sons, William (Laurie) Kemp and Christopher (Katie) Kemp; grandchildren, Jeffery (Kelsie) Acor of Canisteo, NY, Joseph (Katie) Acor of Irondequoite, NY, Matthew (Jackie) Kemp of Painted Post, NY and Jacob Kemp of Jacksonville, FL; great grandchildren, Oaklee and Asher Acor of Canisteo, NY; sister, Ruth (Fred) Johnson; brother, David Kemp; and many nieces, nephews, and cousins. In addition to his parents, Don was predeceased by his sister, Betty Caralis; twin brother, Ronald Kemp; paternal grandparents, Harry and Ethel Kemp of Andover, NY; and maternal grandparents, Herman and Maud Lehman of Andover, NY.
