Obituary of Joan Victoria Andrew

Joan Victoria Andrew, age 86, of Penn Yan, NY passed away on Wednesday, October 26th, 2022 at FF Thompson Hospital in Canandaigua, NY. Joan was born in Endicott, NY June 8th, 1936, the daughter of the late Lily and Ivan Shepardson of Watkins Glen, NY. She graduated from Watkins Glen High School and earned her Dental Assistant Certificate in Rochester. She married Ray Andrew in Burdett, NY on February 11, 1956. She was an Avon Representative and Dental Assistant until retiring in 1995. She was a member of the Geneva Christian Fellowship and enjoyed kayaking, fishing, gardening, baking, home bureau, swimming, piano playing, church chorus, reading and bicycling. Joan was a loving housewife and mother, spending time with her family was most important to her. Joan is survived by her husband of 66 years, Ray Andrew; sons, Scott (Tracy) Andrew of Livonia, NY and Ray (Betsy Lewis) Andrew of Henrietta, NY; six grandchildren, eleven great grandchildren; sister, Joy (Gary) Newton of Upland, IN; and many nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, Joan was predeceased by her brothers, Ronald Victor Shepardson and David Richard Shepardson. A celebration of Joan's life will be held on Saturday, November 19th, 2022 with a time of fellowship at11am and service following at 12 noon at the Geneva Christian Fellowship, 845 Canandaigua Rd., Geneva, NY 14456.
