Dawn Morris

Obituary of Dawn Marie Morris

Dawn Marie (Allheim) Morris, age 67, of Penn Yan, NY entered unto rest peacefully on Thursday, March 9th, 2023, surrounded by loved ones in her home. Dawn was born in 1955 to Frances Clingerman and John Allheim. She attended Penn Yan Academy and married her high school sweet-heart. They later had four children together. Dawn worked in the health care profession for many years. The simplest of pleasures in life brought her great joy. She loved spending time with family and she particularly enjoyed her role as Nana and G-Nana. Dawn had an uncanny ability to find happiness in her daily activities. Her pleasant personality was contagious to everyone she met. Dawn had a courageous battle with her illness and came out a hero, staying strong until the end. Dawn's cheerful attitude and bright smile will be dearly missed by all of her family and friends. Dawn is survived by her step-son, Daniel J. Morris, Jr. (Patsy); her children, David J. Morris (Jacqueline); Heather M. Morris (Brett); Jennifer L. Spears; and John J. Morris (Katy); her sister, Charlene Clingerman (Paul); her brothers, John Allheim (Joyce) and Joseph Allheim. Dawn also leaves behind her fur-baby, Abby; numerous grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, and cousins. Dawn is now at peace joining her husband, Daniel Morris; sister, Francine Ryan; mother, Frances Clingerman; and step-father, Paul Clingerman. Because Dawn celebrated life each day, no formal funeral services are being planned. Instead, she wished to be honored by having everyone that knew her celebrate the good memories you have of her. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made in Dawn's memory to the Hope Walk of Yates County, PO Box 177, Penn Yan, NY 14527 or to the Humane Society of Yates County, PO Box 12, Penn Yan, NY 14527.
