Obituary of Chad A. Grover

Chad A. Grover, Sr., 43, of Prattsburgh, NY, passed away on Thursday, March 16, 2023 at home. He was born in Hornell, NY on December 19, 1979 and graduated from Prattsburgh Central School. Chad loved his country and served honorably with both the US Marines and US Army. Chad worked as a cook while in the military. He was a previous member of the Prattsburgh American Legion and Boy Scout leader. He was a loving husband, devoted father and grandfather. He loved spending time with family. Chad enjoyed gardening, yard work and talking politics. He also collected baseball cards and coins. He was predeceased by his grandparents, Augustus and Mary Angus; father-in-law and mother-in-law, John and Marjorie Sloan, Sr.; and step brother, Timothy Hoose, Jr. Chad is survived by his wife of 15 years, Nancy (Sloan) Grover; daughters, Taylor Grover of Prattsburgh and Caitlin (Angelo) Wilson of Painted Post; one son, Chad Grover, Jr. of Prattsburgh; his mother, Mary (Tim) Hoose of Prattsburgh; two grandchildren, Adalynn Rivera and Tanner Smith; sister, Crystal (Martin) Meza; step-sister, Rebecca Kein of Prattsburgh; sister-in-law, Kellie Socola; brother, Adam Grover of Prattsburgh; brother-in-law, John Sloan, Jr.; nine nieces and nephews, Alexzondra Meza, Wade Meza, Tristin Meza, Kasy Socola, Garrett Socola, Maddox Larham, Madelyn, Maysin and Jaxson; best friend, Carl Collmer; and by many aunts, uncles and cousins. Relatives and friends are invited to call on Saturday, March 25, 2023 from 11:00 am to 1:00 pm at St. Patrick's Church, 47 N. Main St., Prattsburgh, NY. His funeral service will follow at 1:00 pm followed by burial in St. Patrick's Cemetery.
