Obituary of Doris H. Miller

Penn Yan- Doris Helen Urban Miller, age 96, passed away December 6, 2022 at Cayuga Medical Center in Ithaca, New York. Doris was born in Liberty, Pennsylvania on September 21, 1926, the daughter of Henry and Erna Hildebrandt Urban. She graduated from Liberty Vocational High School in 1944. She married LaRue Bill Miller on September 15, 1948, in Liberty, Pennsylvania. Doris and Bill moved to Penn Yan, New York with their two sons in the early 1950s. Soon after that they had a daughter. Doris' long time job was being a homemaker for her family. She did volunteer work in the community for several different places. She loved sewing and making crafts. She enjoyed family events and was a big fan of the New York Yankees. Doris had a green thumb when growing her flowers. She was a member of the Loyal Order of the Moose and the American Legion in Penn Yan. Doris was predeceased by her husband Bill Miller, who passed away April 20, 1973, and her four brothers; Walter Urban, Arthur Urban, Edwin Urban, and Karl Urban and her four sisters; Gert Tutolo, Ella Cleveland, Irene Cuda, and Alice Hahn. She is survived by her two sons; Ronnie (Deb) Miller, Bernie (Michelle) Miller; her daughter Crystal (Don) Thompson; four grandchildren; Tracy (Christina) Miller, Tara Thompson, Kyle Miller, Kelly (Jim) Coriale; six great grandchildren; Brittani (James) Scott, Brandon M%iller, Bryant Miller, Harper Coriale, Kalia Coriale, and Carter Vicedomini, as well as several nieces and nephews.
