Obituary of Rodney Fay Bush, Sr.
Rodney Fay Bush Sr., age 85, passed away peacefully on Sunday, June 11th, 2023. Rodney was born in Geneva, NY, September 23rd, 1937, the son of Donald and Bernice Bush.
Rodney worked as a sewing machine mechanic for Michael Stern Co., where he then continued his career and retired at Iron Age Safety Shoes in Penn Yan.
Rodney was a member of the National Guard, a member of the Penn Yan VFW War Dads, Moose Lodge, American Legion, and a life member of the Seneca Lake Duck Hunters Club. He enjoyed the outdoors, staying at his camp, bluegrass and traveling to Jamborees with his wife Sallie, kids and friends and playing the harmonica.
Mennonite friends of Rodney said if they could bottle up his personality and sense of humor to sell it, they would.
Rodney is survived by his children, Cathy, Rodney Jr. (Polly), Liz, and Charlie Bush; grandchildren, Christopher (April), Nicholas (Jill), Chicael, Jordan Bush, Brianna (Steve) Culver, Timothy (Alicia) Ingram, and Sallie (Daniel) Tiaskkun; great grandchildren, Margaret, Maddisin, Isabella, Samantha, Carter Bush, Landon Gibbons, Dawson Klice, Matthew, Eva Culver, Bentley, Chaden Conklin, Jacob, Lucas, Danica, Oakley Ingram, Alexamae, Remington Blauvelt, Maverick and RyLyn Tiaskkun.
In addition to his parents, Rodney was predeceased by his loving wife of 65 years, Sallie Ann Bush; and three brothers, Ronald, Jim, and Gary Bush.
The Celebration of Life will be determined by the family at a later date.
