Obituary of Jane Salyer

Jane (Dean) Salyer, age 89, of Penn Yan, NY died at home on Sunday, August 27th, 2023.

Jane was born in Montour Falls, NY on August 10th, 1934, the daughter of the late Mary and Beattie Dean. She graduated high school and married Ronald Salyer on December 23rd, 1952 in Burdett, NY. She was the bookkeeper for Agway Home Center in Baldwinsville, NY for 20 years. Jane was an avid Quilter and had taught quilting for 10 years and enjoyed sewing and embroidery. She was a member of the Bluff Point United Methodist Church, where she participated in many Bible Study Classes, was a member of their Women's Group and helped with church dinners and making communion bread.

Jane is survived by her husband of 70 years, Ronald Salyer; daughter, Robin DeSantis (Jim) of Port Crane, NY; son, Dean Salyer (Kirsten) of Angelica, NY; four grandchildren and four great-grandchildren. In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by her sisters, Edna Lambert and Linda Wager.
