Obituary of John C. Parmelee

John C. Parmelee, age 80, of Penn Yan, formerly of Dresden passed away on Sunday, December 3rd , 2023 at the Penn Yan Manor Nursing Home.

John (Jack) was born in Canandaigua, NY on December 20 th , 1942, the son of the late Bernard and Janet(Cornish) Parmelee. He was raised in the Town of Benton and worked for many years as a union carpenter for Penn Yan Builders.

He was predeceased by his daughter, Cindy Radka and his companion in life, Beverly Loftus. John is survived by his son, Steven Parmelee, grandchildren, Nicole Parmelee, Courtney Mothershed, and Brayden Flurry; great grandchildren, Alivia and Abbey Mothershed, Jason, Jayce and Jayden Belotte; sister, June Donne Della; brother, Roney Parmelee; and his K9 companion, Macy.

A great teller of stories that he gladly shared with his friends and caregivers, Jack is remembered for “making it easy to be a part of his life.” His laughter, good humor, and big smile will be missed.

A graveside service will be held in the spring of 2024 at Benton Cemetery in the Town of Benton, NY.
