Obituary of Francis "Bill" Best

Francis “Bill” Best, age 81, of Branchport, NY passed away on Thursday, April 4^th, 2024 at Strong Memorial Hospital in Rochester, NY.

Francis “Bill” was born in Penn Yan, NY on March 9^th, 1943, son of the late, Albert and Ada (Housel) Best.  He was a heavy equipment operator for 61 years for Kotowicz Construction, which is currently Carini Excating out of Fairport, NY.

Francis “Bill” is survived by his son, Andrew W. (Tiffany) Best; step-children, Johanna R. (Robert) Bryan, Timothy Hill and Christine; Twelve grandchildren; Nineteen Great Grandchildren; brother, Richard E. (Kathleen) Best; and several aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins.  In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by his wife of 33 years, Wannetta Best.

Friends and family may call from 2 to 4 pm and 6 to 8 pm on Thursday, April 11^th, 2024 at Townsend Wood & Zinger Funeral Home, 201 E. Elm St., Penn Yan, NY 14527.  His funeral service will be held at the funeral home on Friday, April 12^th at 11am.  Burial will follow at Italy Hill Cemetery, Town of Italy.  In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be made in his memory to Penn Yan Area Volunteer Ambulance, PO Box 272, Penn Yan, NY 14527.  Memories of Francis “Bill” may be shared with his family and friends at townsenwoodzinger.com
