Obituary of Arlene E. Corey

Arlene Edna (Conley) Corey, of Penn Yan, N.Y., passed away peacefully on Tuesday, June 11, 2024 at the age of 80. Arlene was born on July 18, 1943 in Penn Yan, N.Y., to the late Howard and Edna Conley. She graduated from Penn Yan Academy in 1961. She married her devoted husband, Stephen Corey, on September 16th, 1965 in Sandford, Florida.

She was predeceased by her parents; and her sister, Norma Searles.

She is survived by her loving husband of 59 years, Steve; her daughter Kim (Jack) Trombly of Williamson, N.Y.; her son, Todd (Jae Kim) Corey of Luxembourg; along with two grandchildren, Ryan Trombly and Evan Trombly. She is further survived by many nieces, nephews, grand-nieces, and grand-nephews, cousins, friends and family. In her spare time,

Arlene often enjoyed visiting with friends and relatives. She especially enjoyed challenging her mind and was always up for playing cards, a board game or any type of quiz or puzzle. She was an avid reader.

She and Steve enjoyed time together at their camp in Jerusalem, N.Y. and taking annual trips to Barbados with friends. Arlene loved to dance and listen to music, especially the "oldies", spending time with her children and grandchildren.

Arlene enjoyed giving back to the community that was good to her and her family. She spent many years volunteering for the United Way, The Once again Shoppe and calling Bingo at Clinton Crest Manor.

Relatives and friends are invited to call on Friday, July 5, 2024 from 11:00 am to 1:00 pm at Townsend-Wood & Zinger Funeral Home, 201 E. Elm St., Penn Yan, NY. A memorial service will follow at 1:00 pm. A celebration of life will be held from 3-6 pm at the American Legion located at 2001 Himrod Rd, Penn Yan, NY 14527.
