Obituary of Pauline D. Lane

Pauline D. Lane, age 83, of Penn Yan, NY passed away Wednesday, August 21st, 2024 at the Penn Yan Manor Nursing Home.

Pauline was born in Penn Yan, NY on March 23rd, 1941, the daughter of the late Genevieve and Howard Coates.  She enjoyed shopping and the Christmas Holiday season.  She loved her cats and dogs.  Pauline was very family oriented and life was all about her family, especially her grandchildren and great grandchildren.

Pauline is survived by her daughter, Laura (Allen) Willoughby and their children, Ashley (Josh) O’Brien and their children, Adalyn, Alealani, and Kaleo; Joe (Kat-lyn) Knapp and their children, Chase and Koltyn; and Taylor (Anthony) Knapp and children, Everett Steger and Pierson Olsen; her son, Dale Lane (Kara Hinson) and children, Breona (Ian) Lane Tomion and son, Wessley, Samantha Lane Tomion and Chance Lane Tomion and their mother Joan Tomion; her daughter, Cindy Newcomb and her children, Amanda (Travis) Grover and their children, Kinsey, Behr, and Ruby Grover; Matthew (Brittany) Newcomb and their daughter, Summer Newcomb; and Christopher (Lori) Newcomb and their children, Michael, Bri and Brooklyn; and  her lifelong partner, Floyd “Buck” Lane.  In addition to her parents, Genevieve and Howard Coates, Pauline was predeceased by her loving family friend, Bud Tones; her sisters and brother, Olive Folts, Rachel Fingar and Robert Coates.

A graveside service will be held for her immediate family and close friends at Lakeview Cemetery in Penn Yan at 11:30 am on Tuesday, August 27th, 2024 with a celebration of her life to follow at the Penn Yan Moose Lodge, 301 E. Elm St, Penn Yan, NY from 1 pm to 4 pm.  In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made in Pauline’s memory to the Humane Society of Yates County, PO Box 12, Penn Yan, NY 14527.  Memories of Pauline may be shared with her family and friends at townsendwoodzinger.com
