Obituary of JoAnne M. Gilbert

JoAnne M. Gilbert, age 85, of Penn Yan, NY passed away on Sunday, March 30, 2025 at Geneva General Hospital. Joanne was born in Dundee, NY on January 10, 1940 to the late John and Evelyn Gilbert.

In addition to her parents, Joanne is predeceased by her brother Ronald Gilbert. She is survived by a sister, Sandra K. (Gilbert) Gaylor of Dundee, NY; a brother, Dale F. Gilbert of Avon, NY; special nieces Michelle (Gaylor) Raybourne of Hampton, VA, Jennifer Gaylor of Savona, NY, and Judy Gilbert of Avon, NY; special nephew, David Gilbert of Penn Yan, NY; along with several other nieces, nephews, great-nieces, great-nephews and close friends.

Joanne was a graduate of Penn Yan Academy and worked as a bookkeeper at Vine City Supply for more than 20 years until her retirement. She was an avid supporter of numerous charities and organizations, including SPCA and the World Wildlife Fund.

Joanne will be laid to rest at Hillside Cemetery, Dundee, NY. Memorial contributions may be made to the Keuka Comfort Care Home, 35 NY 54, Penn Yan, NY 14527 or to the Penn Yan Moose Lodge #2030, 301 E. Elm St., Penn Yan, NY 14527.
