Our condolences to all Shirley's family, and to all who knew and loved her. I came to know Shirley and her family through my sister and brother in law Charlie and Sue Lofstrom. The last time I remember seeing Shirley was at Sue's surprise birthday party in New Orleans. Shirley shared an Airbnb that weekend with me and my wife Mary Jo. She was fun to be around and we appreciated that opportunity to get to know her better. We know she will be sorely missed, but we cherish some great memories of our time knowing her.
Dear Condella Family,
I am so sorry for the loss of your mother. I met Shirley at Lake to Lake Quilt Guild in 2010 and enjoyed her company. She was a great and talented quilter. Later on, I found out that she was also a Catholic Daughter of the America member like me.. We continued to enjoy our meetings at various gatherings. I would often sit next to her in church. She was an elegant, unassuming and down to earth lady. I am proud to have called her my friend. She will be missed for her ready smile and quiet mannerisms. May she rest in peace.

My deepest condolences to Shirley's family. Shirley was such a beautiful woman with the warmest smile.
Shirley and Frank were close friends with my parents Frank& Jane Compitello. Both Franks served in the same unit during WWII and became life-long friends. My parents in later years, after raising 4 children had more time to spend with friends and did so by rented a home in Penn Yan during the summers to spend time with Frank and Shirley and many of their friends. They attended many events related to the air force and mom learned some quilting skills from the ladies and made my daughter a beautiful heirloom quilt. Mom had so much fun crafting the girls that my sister and I were the recipients of all these one of a kind gifts - table runners, pot holders, ceramic churches etc. I guess the main point is -they had such a good time when spending it with friends in Penn Yan and it showed. I met them once when visiting my parents in Penn Yan and they were simply wonderful people, I am so glad they had them in their lives. My mom is 96, and I' m sure she is taking the news of Shirley's passing very hard.
Please accept my condolences on behalf of myself and my mom Jane- I have several pictures of them with friends while in Penn Yan and they are mine to cherish because of the great memories shared by the group.
Prayers to family - rest in peace Shirley - you left behind friends who loved you and great memories for my parents and me through them.
My love to all of dear Shirley’s relatives and friends. She was a very special lady to me also for over 60 years. She was loved and will be missed by many. Sherry Yates, Charlie’s sister-in-law.
Shirley you were truly a "Great Aunt" to us Mitchell boys! We certainly will miss seeing you're smiling face. Go easy on Uncle Frank up in Heaven when you re-connect!! Condolences to Frank, Christie and our extended Condella Family. Also to her brother "Pete" Lofstrom who was my favorite teacher in high school!!
Our beautiful aunt Shirley had and will continue to have such a profound impact on the lives of her legacy. She comported herself with an easy grace and most sincere kindness that will never be forgotten. I loved you always and will miss you dearly.
