Obituary of Suzanne R. Goodrich

Suzanne R. Goodrich, age 93, of Penn Yan, NY, passed away on Wednesday, October 22, 2025 at The Homestead. Suzanne was born in Watertown, NY on September 8, 1932 to the late Lyman and Blanche (Reese) Goodrich. She was predeceased by her siblings, big brother Lyman L. "Pete" Goodrich, Jr. and Betty Goodrich Allen. She is survived by nieces, Lesley McKinney of Watertown, NY, Cynthia DeShields of Naples, FL, Michelle Bell of Baldwinsville, NY, Debbie Carni of Syracuse, NY and Jennifer Spoto of Syracuse, NY; along with sister-in-law, Barbara Goodrich. Suzanne graduated from Watertown High School with the Class of 1950. She went on to earn a degree from Keuka College in 1954 and then worked for the college from 1954-1961, and again from 1966-1981, first in the admissions department and then later as the Director of Conference Services. She also worked at Western Presbytery in Buffalo, NY; and in 1983 moved to Nebraska to become the first non-clergy woman Executive Presbyter, returning to Penn Yan a few years later. Suzanne was a consummate community volunteer and supporter, serving Penn Yan through her active membership in the First Presbyterian Church, the American Cancer Society, the Keuka Comfort Care Home, Keuka College, and the Yates Christmas Program, where for many years she assisted during gift distribution. A Memorial Service will be held on Monday, November 3, 2025 at 1:00 pm at the First Presbyterian Church, 211 Main St., Penn Yan, NY 14527.
