Remembering Jody Pike
I spent most of my childhood across the street at the Pike house playing with my friends Abby and Anne. It was like having two sisters from another mother. Their home was like walking into an art gallery with wonderful pictures made by Jody and others hung on the walls.
Jody tried to teach me how to use the Potter‘s wheel, unsuccessfully I might add. She did, however, inspire me to pursue my drawing and later work in a watercolor medium for some portraits and landscape pictures I have created over the years.
I wish that I had been able to develop a green thumb as she and her daughters had. I remember their house being full of plants in the windows throughout the back of their home.
I have several art items I’ve kept in my home that she has made and given to me, or my mother, over the years. They are prized possessions of a happier time and my youth.
My wish is for Jody to be at peace with her loved ones that have passed before her. I pray for peace of mind and comfort for those that she has left behind. Charles, Anne and Abby and extended family please accept my deepest condolences on your Jody‘s passing.
Jody, you will be missed.
Love,
Gail Fusco Martin
