Violet D. “Billie” Donaldson, age 99, of Branchport, NY passed away Wednesday, January 27th, 2021 at the Penn Yan Manor Nursing Home.
Billie was born in Kingston, NY on December 4th, 1921 to the late Henry F. and Ilse K. Dunbar. She was a 1946 graduate of Alfred University and was known for her love of nature, especially plants, as well as music.
Billie is survived by her children, Carl (Bonnie) Hampton of Stanley, Douglas Hampton of Tunkhannock, PA, and Elsa Filiey of Canandaigua; step children, Jane Dinehart of Savona, Frank Donaldson of Maine, and Paul (Kathy) Donaldson of Penn Yan; grandchildren, Carly (Chris Dawson) Hampton, Evan Hampton, Luke Filiey, Earl (Stephanie) Donaldson, Nancy (Gordon) Taylor, Tim Dinehart, James Dinehart, and Kimberly Dinehart; great grandson, Arlo Dawson; sisters, Susanne (Carroll) Barrymore of CA and Eva Bailey of TX; as well as, several nieces, nephews and cousins. In addition to her parents, Billie was predeceased by her husband, Elmer Donaldson; step son, Edward Donaldson, brothers, James and Edward Dunbar; and sister, Alice Dunbar.
At Billie's request, there will be no services. Please consider making a donation in her memory to Keuka Comfort Care Home, PO Box 107, Penn Yan, NY 14527. Arrangements are with the Townsend Wood & Zinger Funeral Home, 201 E. Elm St., Penn Yan, NY 14527.
