Obituary of Stacia J. Fox

Stacia J.  Fox, age 86, of Macedon and Pulteney, NY passed away on March 13, 2024. Born in Corning, NY to Anna and Mack Waszkiewicz.  Predeceased by her husband, James E Fox and son Alan Fox.  She is survived by her loving daughter Elaine (Fox) Miller, beloved son-in-law Douglas Miller and beloved grandson, Bradley Miller.  Also survived by her sister, MaryAnn Nowak of California and cousins, Carl Szatkowski, Richard Szatkowski, Gerry Szatkowski and several nephews.  She is also survived by many dear friends and her beloved companion, Chloe.

She graduated Saluetorian in 1955 from Prattsburgh Central School and Hornell Business School in 1956. She married Jim, her high school sweetheart in 1957.  Stacia worked as legal secretary and then spent 30+ years working for the Steuben County Office of Alcoholism in Bath, NY where she retired in 1997.   She was a member of the Legal Secretaries, St. Gabriel’s Church in Hammondsport and Pulteney Volunteer Fire Department Women’s Auxiliary. Stacia and Jim also spent many years working their vineyard at BJ Farms in Pulteney.

Stacia could be found working in her flower gardens or walking her little dog, Chloe.  She enjoyed the lady’s patio home luncheons, red hat society luncheons and visiting with friends and neighbors.  She was the most loving, giving, caring and strong willed woman who’s courage and strength is beyond words.  She will be truly missed by all her family and many dear friends. 

Calling hours will be held at the Townsend-Wood & Zinger Funeral Home in Penn Yan, NY on Thursday, March 21st from 4:00-6:00 p.m.  A memorial service will follow at the funeral home at 6pm.  A private burial will be held at the Prattsburgh Rural Cemetery where she will be laid to rest next to her husband and son.   Memories of Stacia may be shared with her family and friends at townsendwoodzinger.com
