Obituary of Doris M. Tones

Doris M. Tones, age 94, of Winnabow, NC formerly of Penn Yan, NY passed away on Thursday, November 4th, 2021 at Brunswick Cove in Winnabow, NC. Doris was born in Penn Yan, NY on October 7th, 1927, the daughter of the late Earl and Maude (Noble) Stiles. She worked as a bank teller for the former Chase-Lincoln Bank in Penn Yan, retiring in 1986. She was a member of the First Methodist Church in Penn Yan and Home Bureau. Doris is survived by her children, Terri Mansell of LeLand, NC, Dale Tones of Corning, NY, Douglas Tones of Center Island, WA, and Barbara Krowiak of Bath, NY; Five grandchildren, Five Great grandchildren; and sibling, Leon Stiles. In addition to her parents, Doris was predeceased by her husband, Burton E. Tones in 2006 and daughter, Carol Kyer. Friends and family may call from Noon to 1pm on Tuesday, November 30th, 2021 at Townsend Wood & Zinger Funeral Home, 201 E. Elm St., Penn Yan, NY 14527. A memorial service will follow at 1pm at the funeral home. Burial will be at City Hill Cemetery in the Town of Torrey, NY.
