Curtis A. Hoose, age 66, of Branchport, NY went home to be with the Lord on Tuesday, December 21st, 2021 at Geneva General Hospital. Curt was born on June 24th, 1955 in the Town of Urbana, NY, the son of the late Lewis and Lolita (Hagadorn) Hoose. He graduated from Hammondsport Central School (Class of 1973). He worked for Mercury Aircraft in Hammondsport for 26 years and then went on to his dream career, driving truck for Long Milk Haulers in Penn Yan. He liked cutting firewood, being outdoors, history, and reading, especially books about military history and books by Tom Clancy. He loved his dogs, and he especially enjoyed talking to people wherever he went. Curt was a loving husband, father, and grandfather and will be dearly missed. Curt is survived by his beloved wife of 45 years, Hazel L. (Nesbit) Hoose (married November 13, 1976); sons, Christopher, Andrew, and Adam; grandchildren, Abby, Allison, Jacob, Katie, and Craig; sister, Linda Day; sisters-in-law, Sally (Walter) Ovenshire and Betty Nesbit; brothers-in-law, Wes (Elaine) Nesbit and Terry (Kelley) Nesbit; close friends, Karmon Wood and Dean Kennedy; and several nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, Curt was predeceased by his sister, Rosemary Loucks; brother, Marshall Hoose; brother-in-law, Gary Loucks; sister-in-law, Marjorie (Nesbit) Emerson; mother and father-in-law, Edwin and Doris Nesbit; and his cherished dogs, Boober, Woof, and Rachel. A private memorial service will be held at the convenience of his family. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in Curt's memory to Baker Institute for Animal Health at Cornell University’s College of Veterinary Medicine in honor of pets or to the Family Life Network.
