Obituary of Philip Fox

Philip J. Fox, age 74, of Penn Yan, NY passed away at home on Monday, January 17th, 2022. Phil was born in Penn Yan, NY on June 24th, 1947, the son of the late, Robert C. and Mary E. (Nelson) Fox.  He graduated from Penn Yan Academy Class of 1966 and then earned a two year degree from Freeman Business Institute of Geneva in 1967.  He married the love of his life, Linda D. Fox on August 1st, 1967.  He was a man of many trades including Walkerbilt Woodworking, Goulds Pumps in Seneca Falls, Moravec Well Drilling, and many construction companies. He was a Girl Scout leader for over 20 years, a TeamWorks builder, trainer and facilitator at Keuka College, NYS archery instructor, and a Project Adventure trainee.  He was an avid outdoorsman which included fishing, hunting, hiking, and camping.  He loved sharing his passion for these with his children and grandchildren.  During his retirement, Phil traveled extensively in the United States with the love of his life, Linda. Phil is survived by his loving wife of 54 years, Linda D. Fox; daughter, Bev (Roger) Eggleston of Penn Yan, NY; son, Bob (Nicole) Fox of East Rochester, NY; four grandchildren, Caitlyn (Josh) McFall, Erik Eggleston, Kaylie Fox, and Tully Fox; two great grandchildren, James McFall and Charlotte McFall; brother, William Fox of Penn Yan, NY; several Nieces, Nephews and Cousins; as well three cats, three tropical birds, and his faithful dog, Trooper. A celebration of Phil's life will be held on Saturday, April 2, 2022 from 1-4 pm at the Benton Fire Hall, 932 NY 14A, Penn Yan.  In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in Phil's memory to the Humane Society of Yates County, PO Box 12, Penn Yan, NY 14527 or to Ontario-Yates Hospice, 756 PreEmption Rd., Geneva, NY 14456.  Memories of Phil may be shared with his family and friends at townsendwoodzinger.com
