Bradley Braman

Obituary of Bradley Scott Braman

Bradley Scott Braman, age 70, of Penn Yan, NY passed away on Wednesday, December 6th, 2023 surrounded by family at Keuka Comfort Care Home after a nearly nine-year battle with cancer. Brad was born in Penn Yan, NY on June 17th, 1953, the son of the late Elford and June Braman. Brad retired from the Village of Penn Yan after 33 years of service to his community in several departments. He was known for his work in the DPW where he was a heavy equipment operator and lawn maintenance worker. Brad later transferred to the Water and Sewer Department to finish his career with the Village. Brad was a life member of the Seneca Lake Duck Hunters Association where he was a friend to many through working countless events and participating in numerous trap-shooting leagues. He loved helping operate the Little Brown Jug League with his brother Doug when the Seneca Lake Ducks hosted events. Many great memories were made from "station 5" with his teammates Steve, Barney, Andy and Bill. He enjoyed the camaraderie with fellow shooters Steve, Jeff and their spouses. Brad was also a member of the Penn Yan Moose Club and Penn Yan American Legion Post 355. Brad loved spending time hunting, playing in his golf league and cheering for NASCAR driver Terry Labonte. He raced at Dundee Raceway for a short time and enjoyed taking in local dirt races with the Kerrick and Daggett families. As his sickness prevented him from attending races, he could be found watching dirt racing online from Canandaigua, NY and racetracks streamed all over the country on his iPad. His pride and joy later in life were his grandkids in Boston, MA, Penn Yan, NY and Horseheads, NY. They were his light during his last months. Brad Braman was predeceased by his parents Elford and June Braman, brother Douglas M. Braman, son Brad Ovens and great-nephew Weston Runions. Brad is survived by his loving companion of 24 years and wife of 6 years Lee Ann Braman of Penn Yan; Daughter Heather Viele, granddaughter Angelina Viele (Andrew Bell), grandson Robert John Viele (Margaret Franceskin) of Boston, MA; Son Steven (Keegan) Ovens and grandson Kole of Horseheads, NY; Close family friends Michele Viele, Sierra and Kaia Boggio, Raelyn Howell all of Penn Yan, NY; Brother Kyle Braman and Ralph Padilla of Rochester, NY; Brother Neal (Amy) Braman of Victor, NY; Sister In-law Darlene Braman of Penn Yan, NY; Sister In-law Theresa (Rick) Multer of Penn Yan, NY; Brother In-law Bruce (Marianne) Kerrick of Penn Yan, NY; Albie Kerrick of Prattsburgh, NY; Nephews: Justin Braman, Jason (Jill) and Rosalie, Nora and Joanna Braman, Sean (Morgan) and Gatlin Braman, Paul Kerrick, Ryan (Courtney) Kerrick, Kevin Kerrick; Nieces: Amanda Braman (Chad Brady), Ashtin (Russell) and Cade Runions, Danielle (Dakota) Tempest, Melissa Kerrick (Ben Holt), Kylene (Matt) Applebee; numerous cousins and many friends.
