Condolences
I'm privileged to have gotten to know Barbara Jeanne Mortensen Gifford, my "cousin-once-removed" (my father's cousin - and this is just for your info Laurie :) ). She performed the religious ceremony at my marriage to my husband Barry Disbrow in 2011 in Troy, PA. At some point in time, the Karl Mortensen family opened up the Karl Mortensen family reunion to the grandchildren of my father's mother's family (Maude Margaret Mortensen Barr) and we kids took full advantage of it. There was no greater place to be than at a Mortensen family reunion. There was lots of love, lots of laughs, and lots of music. Not to mention "the Auction." I still can't but help to break out in a belly laugh thinking of the last one. Oh the memories! Barb brought so much life and love to the family and to the greater society. Her children carry on her legacy. Barb has touched my spirit personally, and for that I'll give everlasting thanks. I wish I could peek into heaven right now to see what those Mortensen rascals are up to! Soon most will be joining them in the Sweet By and By.
Barry and I send our condolences and lots of love and peace to Ed and my "second cousins" <3

On behalf of the Potts family, we send you much love and our sincere condolences! Barb was such a beautiful soul!
We lost our father Marvin last Wednesday, so we understand your grief all too well.
Hopefully you're finding comfort in knowing how many lives she touched! Truly a gem....and 'm so glad I had the privilege of tasting those sticky buns!! :)
Sincerely,
Kathleen Potts Hansen
Our thoughts and prayers are with the Gifford family as you remember and celebrate the life of such a special woman!

Dear Family of Barbara,
I didn't have the privilege of knowing her, yet know that she served her Lord well and was a special woman according to the beautiful memoriam that was written in her obituary. My sincerest sympathy to all of you in this great loss. May the God of all comfort, Father, Son, and Holy Spirit shower comfort and loving strength to you. In peace and sympathetic prayer, Pastor Nancy L. Russell, Serving in the Northern Flow District.
I am so sorry to hear of your mom's passing, She was a wonderful person and I am so glad I had so many talks with her throughout her life, She will be greatly missed by many but her memories and life will never be forgotten! HUGS to all and prayers to all the family. She will always have you in her sight and visit you often as that beautiful carinal or the butterfly or the rainbow in the sky to the bright star at night and the breeze upon your cheek. She will always be with all her family forever! HUGS
