Obituary of Barry E. Hayes

Barry E. Hayes, age 67, of the Town of Torrey passed away unexpectedly at home on Sunday, December 13th, 2020. Barry was born in Penn Yan, NY on October 7th, 1953, the son of Dudley E. and Ellen (Parkhurst) Hayes Jr. Barry was a graduate of PennYan Academy and worked as a welding fabricator for over 30 years for Coach & Equipment in Penn Yan prior to his retirement. He enjoyed working on engines and doing things for his family and friends. Barry is survived by his mother, Ellen Hayes; brothers, George (Rose), Roger (Connie) and Randy Hayes; nephew, Robert (Katrina) Hayes; niece in law, Amanda Hayes; and four great nieces and nephews. Barry was predeceased by his father, Dudley E. Hayes Jr.; brother, Donald A. Hayes, and nephew, James Hayes. Friends and family may call from 11am to 1pm on Thursday, December 17th, 2020 at Townsend Wood & Zinger Funeral Home, 201 E. Elm St., Penn Yan, NY 14527. His funeral service will follow at the funeral home at 1pm with Rev. Ron Woudenberg officiating. Those in attendance are asked to follow social distancing guidelines and to wear a mask.
