Obituary of Maxine H. Fullagar

Maxine H. Fullagar, age 95, of Penn Yan, NY passed away Thursday, July 1st, 2021 at the Penn Yan Manor. Maxine was born on March 3rd, 1926, the daughter of the late David Maxwell and Nellie Ethel (Besemer) Hoover. She graduated valedictorian at Hammondsport High School Class of 1943. She earned her Bachelor's Degree in Business from Keuka College in 1947. She worked briefly in the business office at Keuka College and helped her late husband, Howard L Fullagar run the family vineyard. She loved to travel and to meet people from all over and all walks of life. At times, Maxine enjoyed hosting guests from other countries. She was a former member of the Town of Milo Planning Board and was very active in the Home Dems. Maxine was a founding member of the Women for NYS Wine. She was very active in the United Methodist Church and choir. Keuka Lake was a very vital part of her life from being raised on the lake to making her life the lake and the community surrounding it. Maxine is survived by her daughters Ann E. Fullagar of Portland, Maine and Carol (Aaron) Wolfer of Mumford, NY. In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by her husband, Howard L. Fullagar on November 29th, 2003. A service celebrating her life will be announced at a later date. Her family wishes to extend their thankfulness for the caregivers Maxine had.
