Obituary of William C. Allen

William Charles Allen, age 93, of Pre-Emption Rd., Penn Yan, NY passed away on Thursday, July 1st, 2021 at the Penn Yan Manor. Bill was born in the Town of Reading, NY on December 20th, 1927, the son of the late Adelbert Barkley and Susie Helen (Mattison) Allen. He worked for Shepard-Niles in Montour Falls, NY before serving in the US Navy from 1945 to 1946. He was then released from duties and went to work for Hurrin Esty, Studebacker Co. in Penn Yan, NY as a mechanic. He married Mary L. Madigan on October 23rd, 1949, Bill then answered the call out duty in the US Navy from 1951 to 1953. He later went on to be self employed offering janitorial and cleaning services. He was a member and former elder at the Seventh Day Adventist Church in Geneva, NY. Bill is survived by his wife of 71 years, Mary L. (Madigan) Allen of Penn Yan; son, Ronald Lee (Sue) Allen of Dundee, NY; daughter, Lavonne K. Willumson of Newfield, NY; several grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces, and nephews. In addition to his parents, Bill was predeceased by his daughter, Judy Ann Allen; granddaughter, Tracy Snyder; brother, Floyd Allen; and his sister, Helen Allen. In keeping with Bill's wishes, there will be no prior calling hours or service. Interment will be held at Hillside Cemetery in Dundee, NY at the convenience of his family.
