Janice and family
Our thoughts and prayers are with you. Joey was a special person. Take solace in that he will be fondly remembered by all whom he touched.
May God bless all of you.
Please accept my deepest condolences for your loss. I played high school football with Joe. Joe was a wonderful athlete and terrific man. Our coach once said Joe could be on the front page of Sports Illustrated and you'd never know it. He lead our team in so many ways. Joe was an inspiration to all of us. It was an honor to be his team mate. I'll always remember Joe as a true friend.
Dear Janice and Family.
Joe and I were contemporaries at Corning, Inc., and we always talked BIG Ten football with his Purdue and my Penn State connection. How fitting that Purdue and PSU will meet in the first game of the year this season on Sept 1.
I am so very sorry and saddened for your loss. Joe was such a great guy who, along with you, endured so much since his accident. I know the years since his fall have been both heartbreaking and heartwarming. Heartbreaking in how tragic, and heartwarming in the love and care Joe received, and gave as he could. May his peace bring you similar peace, and may the wonderful good-time memories help sustain you.
It is an enduring legacy for a person to simply be "remembered well"............and that would be Joe!!
Sincerely,
Paul Topichak

My sincere condolences go out to Janice and your family and friends. I remember Joe fondly from high school days. I will keep you in my thoughts and prayers.
I was so lucky to have Joe as a roommate at Purdue. I didn’t really get to know him until then. He was a great man: He had all the right values, and it showed. He worked so hard to be successful in both his studies and athletics. Of course, there was lots of fun too, but I like to think that we helped each other keep things in the right balance. I know that same mix of values which made Joe himself, also led him through his professional career and personal life. These last 9 years just weren’t fair. Joe & Janice deserved an active healthy retirement. But, the Lord works in unusual ways. Joe dealt with his fall and resulting injuries in the same way he did with every challenge in his life. In our visits since the accident it was so apparent to us how difficult a position they both were in, and how they both have handled those challenges so well. We are so glad that he was able to see Jess and Jordan grow, mature, and assume their own lives. I know he was rightfully proud, and he felt blessed to be here for them. Janice, you were so good for each other, and we are praying for all of your family in this next chapter of your lives. With our deepest sympathy, Tim & Bliss Lindquist
