I first met Mary Pat at MCC when I was her student. She was not only a teacher but a mentor. When she started Sugar Shack Blueberry Farm, I was fortunate enough to live close by, and visit now and then. I always felt she lived her life with purpose.
I cherish my memories of her. Sharlene Briggs
I remember Mary Pat well as I was one of the Med/Lab Techs she instructed at St. Mary’s Hospital in Rochester. We were doing our R.I.T. internships at St. Mary’s when she and Barb (I don’t recall Barb’s last name) were part of our Med. Tech Instructor Team. They both were very helpful, knowledgeable and each made sure we completed all our lessons and requirements! As I recall, we seemed to get to know Mary Pat better… especially with her quick friendly personality! I will always remember her also as a fun and fair instructor who helped me on my way as a Licensed Medical Technologist! I moved to California eventually ~ but then returned back home to the Finger Lakes!! I wish I had known then that she was in the area …as I would of loved to visit with her to catch up. Rest in Peace to our MARY PAT PENNELL. Thank you for being you! -Nancy C.
I first heard about Mary Pat Pennell from m wife because my wife worked at MCC.I remember Mary Pat as she was first starting her Blue Berry farm. They planted some open land and then as they needed they cleared out trees and hedgerows to make more land available. It was lots of work and there was always netting that needed to be put up so the birds and other wildlife did not steal the crop.
