Obituary of Bonnie R. Perry
Bonnie R. Perry, age 75, of Penn Yan, NY passed away on Tuesday, December 26th, 2023 at Strong Memorial Hospital in Rochester.
Bonnie was born in Penn Yan, NY on December 27th, 1948, the daughter of the late, Lester and Jean (Kirkpatrick) Jensen. She graduated from Penn Yan Academy and Corning Community College. She worked as a nurse for Upstate University Hospital and then at Soldiers & Sailors Memorial Hospital in Penn Yan for 42 Years before retiring.
Bonnie loved to sit at the pier or boat launch. She loved to watch nature programs, Molly B Polka Party and Cops. Her biggest hobby was trolling the scanner to a point that if you were on the phone with her she would say "HOLD ON" to hear what was happening on the scanner about ten times. She loved McDonald's unsweetened ice tea and she never had a problem telling you what she thought. Her greatest love was and will always be her grandchildren.
Bonnie is survived by her children; Christine (Kenneth) Pullin, and Kelly (Billy) von Glahn, Matthew Perry and Mark (Aimee`) Perry; grandchildren, Grayson, Emerson, Paige, Rylan, and Ian von Glahn, Emmaleigh, Harper, and Remington Perry, and David and Abigail Perry; brothers, Roger (Becky) Jensen and Timothy Jensen, sister-in-law Deb; many nieces, nephews and cousins; as well as her cat, Heidi. In addition to her parents, Bonnie was predeceased in life by her husband, Glea Perry; daughter, Colleen Perry; and brothers, Chuck and Randy Jensen.
A memorial service celebrating her life will be held at 11 am on Saturday, December 30th, 2023 at the United Methodist Church, 166 Main St., Penn Yan, NY 14527. In lieu of flowers because Bonnie always said "If you can't buy me flowers when I am alive then don't buy me flowers when I am dead", memorial contributions may be made in Bonnie's memory to the Humane Society of Yates County, PO Box 12, Penn Yan, NY 14527 or to Camp Good Days, PO Box 665, Mendon, NY 14506.
