Susan Anne McLoud Nissen, age 67, left this world March 16th, 2021 gaining her wings.
Susan was born on April 2nd, 1953 and was raised on Italy Hill, New York (Branchport). Susan was a graduate of the Class of 1971 Prattsburgh Central School. Following her dream Susan went on to Mary McClellan Hospital of Practical Nursing in Cambridge, NY. While there she met life long friends and enjoyed seeing New England. Susan graduate Class of 1972. After coming home Susan worked at Soldiers & Sailors Memorial Hospital and at the Finger Lakes Tourism Alliance in Penn Yan, NY.
Susan loved her family and loved visiting with them and telling them stories. She loved bright colors and wearing fun colorful patterns. You could see it also in her drawings and paintings. The wilder and crazier the better. She had a love for reading and was always going to the library for a stack of books. Another passion was ancestry and our roots. She loved nature, the sounds, hiking, camping and traveling and her black eyed susans. Susan loved her coffee and was rarely seen without a cup in her hand. She absolutely loved candy bars and donuts.
She helped anyone she could and dreamed of having a bird sanctuary. Every year she looked forward to having a birthday celebration with twin uncle and aunt and her aunts son. All sharing a birthday together. She enjoyed and looked forward to her time with Anne Raner who meant so much to her. Anne is an aunt who is more like a “sister”. The love of Susan's life was her cat Molly.
Susan was predeceased by her parents, Ithiel (Sonny) and Dorothy Keech McLoud, Jr.; infant sister; brother-in-law, David Rosell and niece, Jessica Rosell; paternal grandparents, Ithiel and Jennie McLoud, Sr.; and maternal grandparents, Guy and Francis Keech.
